PORA Recycling Locations
|
Recycling grows each year in America.
In 2006, Americans recycled almost one third of their total trash.
However, for our children and grandchildren's sake, we can and must do better.
Below is a list designed to help Sun City West residents do just that.
The list shows how and where to recycle/dispose of common household items.
Just click on items of interest and read the information provided.
Parks & Sons offers a curbside recycling program in Sun City West and surrounding areas.
Click here to see information about their program.
If you have questions in the meantime, email us at recycle@porascw.org.

| Paint, latex |
| |
Latex based paints are not considered hazardous waste.
* Tips for Paint Disposal: If there is not a leftover paint collection program available in your area,
the easy method of paint disposal is to dry it out, but you can only do this with latex paint as it is non-hazardous.
Before paint disposal you should find a safe location for paint disposal that is away from children and pets.
The methods of paint disposal: start with pouring it onto several sheets of newspaper or in a box with absorbent material
such as shredded paper or kitty litter, then let it dry completely. After that, when the paint is dry you can wrap it up and throw it away.
You may also be able to clean out and recycle the can.

Go one short block down Westgate, look for blue recycling bins sitting in parking area on right. Clean and rinse the cans. |
