WATER

PORA’s Water committee includes 5-8 PORA members. In addition, Arizona American Water Co. and the Rec Centers of SCW provide personnel on a regular basis to report on conservation efforts, upcoming changes in service, irrigation on golf courses, etc. The PORA Water Committee has become a de facto Sun City West water authority, providing a liaison to the water utility, county and state water regulators. The committee deals with citizen concerns and complaints to PORA regarding billing and other water issues, directing residents to the correct state, county or utility personnel who can handle their problems. The committee also provides a forum for HOA representatives, who are concerned with water rates and/or conservation methods they can bring to their associations. Any proposed water and sewer rate increases and responses from the Arizona Corporation Committee are also discussed. Water conservation is an important issue. The committee has been instrumental in notifying residents and businesses about water wasted through irrigation problems.

The PORA Water Committee meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month(except June, July, and August) at 9:00 am. The public is encouraged to attend. See the PORA home page for any schedule changes.
